Chocolate Chip Cookies

Finally, we found the perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I can’t take credit for these AT ALL, in fact, my kids would say that I am, by far, the worst cookie baker they know. They NEVER turn out.

But, Sophia, on the other hand, bakes to perfection. So much to learn in the kitchen for me.

Additionally, these double, triple or even quadruple well and the dough can be frozen or left in the fridge and cooked later.

Ingredients

  • 125 grams of butter (softened)

  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup of white sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 egg (beaten)

  • 1 3/4 cups self-raising flour

  • 1/2 tsp of salt

  • 125 grams of chocolate chips (the kids like milk chocolate, I prefer dark chocolate)

  • 60 grams of walnuts (optional - we never add these but if you like, go ahead!)

Method

  1. Cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla.

  2. Add egg gradually to creamed mixture.

  3. Mix in sifted flour and salt.

  4. Add chocolate chips and walnuts.

  5. Bake in the oven on a baking sheet with baking paper on moderate heat for 10 - 12 minutes.
